The World Health Organisation, WHO, has come out to say that face masks should only be worn in places where the virus is widespread and physical distancing is difficult.
WHO chief, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus had this to say in a recent statement.
According to him, this is in line with evolving evidence amid the pandemic, and citizens all over the world should take it seriously.
He added that face masks are just one part of an effective strategy to suppress the virus and should not be mistaken as the main form of security.
His words, “In light of evolving evidence, WHO advises that governments should encourage the general public to wear face masks where there is widespread transmission and physical distancing is difficult.”
