The World Health Organization, has in commemoration of International Day of Radiography, identified that X-ray was discovered 125 years ago by Wilhelm Roentgen and helped save lives through X-ray.

WHOstated that this year commemoration is targeted to celebrate radiologists and radiographers. According to the World Health Organization, this specie of personels have contributed immensely to the fight against COVID-19 which include chest radiography, chest tomography, and ultrasound of the lungs, which they conduct on victims of the pandemic.
WHO noted that medical and mental radiology make use of X-ray to check the internal organs in the body. The WHO further noted that 2 D and 3 D scan of the body are shown through computed tomography.
According to the World Health Organization, the use of radiation in medical in imagery saves life, while irregular use may lead to too much doses of radiation, which is dangerous to the body.
The World Health Organization stated that after Roentgen, discovered X-ray years ago, it is still the only means by which one can view the interior of the body.
