Governor Ayodele Fayose has expressed gratitude to the late military Head of State, General Sani Abacha, for having the wisdom to create Ekiti State.
Ekiti, declared a state on October 1, 1996 by the late military dictator, was carved out of the old Ondo State.
According to Fayose, “Abacha could have created another state, but he choose (sic) to create Ekiti State. I will continue to be grateful to him”.
The controversial Ekiti governor, in a series of tweets Thursday, also vowed that despite the “current financial challenges” confronting the state, he will make a difference.
“Everything that I do on this seat, if it is of God, it will stand the test of time”, he added.
