The wife of Ekiti State Governor, Mrs. Feyisetan Fayose has counseled parents to teach their children early in life how to appreciate God by taking interest in the welfare of the less privileged in the society.
Speaking in Iyin-Ekiti while on a visit to the Erelu Angela Adebayo Children’s home, Mrs. Fayose noted that the parents will always reap the result of such act in the future.
The Governor’s wife said God’s heart is touched when an act of goodness is extended to the vulnerable people who cannot repay.
She cautioned against indiscriminate dumping of children around town, stressing that the perpetrators are incurring the wrath of God.
The first lady however advised that any child not desired by the parents should be openly signed off to the children’s home or the hospital.
She commended the members of staff of the children’s home for their selfless care for the children, praying that God will repay them bountifully.
In his remarks, the Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs, who is equally the Director, Social Welfare, Mr. Ayo Ibikunle expressed appreciation to the Governor’s wife for her benevolence, describing her as a blessing to the state.
While responding, the Director, Child Development, Mrs. Boluwatife urged well-to-do individuals and organizations to support the home with educational materials for the children.
She said people are welcomed in the home to take the children with them on holiday.
The highpoint of the visit was the presentation of food items, beverages and toiletries to the home by the wife of the Governor.
