The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that he has no regrets for supporting President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 general elections.
Speaking during a thanksgiving service organised by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ochigba, Ahoada East and West Local Government Areas of Rivers State, Wike expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for entrusting him with the position of FCT Minister.
Wike, a former Rivers State governor who served for eight years under the PDP, stated that his decision to support Tinubu attracted threats before the elections.

However, he insisted that he would make the same decision again if given the opportunity.
“I have no regrets, I have no apologies. If the opportunity comes, I will do the same thing,” Wike said.
The Minister also dismissed allegations of land grabbing made against him by some residents of the Federal Capital Territory, describing the claims as baseless and laughable.
“I am in charge of lands in Abuja. How will I grab what I am in charge of?” he queried.
Wike emphasized that individuals occupying government lands must comply with the law or risk having their plots revoked.
He also highlighted the challenges of serving at the national level, noting that managing the affairs of the FCT has given him a broader perspective compared to his tenure in Rivers State.
“No matter the cry, no matter the propaganda, and no matter the names you give me, the right thing must be done,” he affirmed.
Wike thanked Tinubu for the opportunity to serve and reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the administration of lands in Abuja is carried out lawfully.
