    Wike-certificate

Rivers State governor-elect, Nyesom Wike has promised never to disappoint the people of the state who voted him into power.

He said this yesterday in Port Harcourt, after receiving his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Wike vowed that his administration will reach out to the needs of the entire Rivers people without bias, irrespective of party affiliation.

He also promised not to witch-hunt anybody in his administration, stressing that he will not use the time meant for the development of the state to witch-hunt his political opponents.

Wike won the Rivers State governorship election after INEC dismissed most of the claims of irregularities by the All Progressives Congress (APC) who was represented by Dakuku Peterside in the polls. The APC candidate had accused the police of working with the PDP to rig elections in the state.

“On April 11 terror was visited on Rivers’ people. Violence of unimaginable dimension,” Peterside told Channels Television.

“We lost 13 souls, with several other persons injured and many of them found themselves in different hospitals.

“Nobody can say that there was election in Rivers State.

“We knew all along that a good number of policemen in Rivers State were compromised,” he stressed.
