Former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has declared that he will not abandon the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), vowing to fight to the finish amid the internal crisis rocking the opposition party.
Wike, who spoke during an interview with select media houses in Abuja on Wednesday, criticised PDP governors for failing to invest resources in strengthening the party.
“I’m not leaving that party. I don’t run away from fights. I’m not going to leave this party,” Wike asserted.

The former governor took particular aim at Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, accusing him of failing to secure a governorship candidate for PDP in the forthcoming Anambra State election.
“Look at the Enugu governor—he wants to be the leader of the South East. I agree with that. But as a leader, you must also make sacrifices,” Wike said.
He lamented that the PDP had no candidate contesting the governorship election in Anambra, blaming party leadership for the situation.
“The governors have the money, but they are not spending it well. They are not spending money on the party,” Wike added.
His remarks come amid lingering tensions within the PDP, as party leaders and stakeholders struggle to navigate internal disputes and maintain party cohesion ahead of key elections.
