The governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, met with Lawan Musa Majakura on Thursday, who had previously switched from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mamman Mohammed, the governor’s director of publicity and media affairs, confirmed this in a statement made available to the media in Damaturu.
Majakura stated that the APC’s efforts to improve infrastructure in his district prompted him to switch parties from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

“I want to join hands with you and support you in serving my constituency to improve the lives of my people,” he told them.
house Speaker Chiroma Buba Mashio praised the defecting politician, saying, “Hon. Lawan Musa Majakura has demonstrated serious commitment to defending the interests of his people on the floors of the assembly.”
The Speaker believes that Majakura’s switch to the APC will benefit the party and the state administration of Yobe.
InfoStride News recounts that in the 2023 state assembly election, Lawan Musa Majakura shocked the political establishment by unseating Ahmed Lawan Mirwa, the incumbent Speaker of the House.
