One of Atiku Abubakar’s media advisers, Daniel Bwala, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu and the Yoruba don’t engage in “politics of bitterness.” Abubakar is the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming 2023 election.
In response to Abdullahi Adamu’s departure as national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bwala made the following statement.
On Twitter, Bwala said, “Life is to be taken easily, ohh. The APC chairman who was quoted as saying, “I could write demand letters that filled his office and still not get my professional fees for what I worked for, simply because I left the party,” is no longer the chairman, and he will now observe how I am paid my fees by those with whom I have maintained cordial and respectful relations despite leaving the party.

The Yorubas, I must say, are masters of political diplomacy. Starting with PBAT Asiwaju, his relatives, and neighbours. When we reconnect and say hello to one another, it’s as if I’ve never been away. Recently, in open court before the judges sat, I was yelled at by Babatunde Ogala, SAN, “Bwala, you know you are on loan, and you must come back.” The entire room erupted in laughter.
“On my way to the gym this morning, I ran into Kayode Fayemi. As soon as I saw him, I said hello. You really need to return home, he joked. Lack of resentment. Since I abandoned the APC, I haven’t heard from my Northern APC brethren, and one of them has even refused to cover the cost of my legal representation.
A select few of my northern brothers, though, are very competent and maintain regular contact. Because power is fleeting, may God grant us the wisdom to view and engage in politics as politics rather than war.
