The Ultimate Destiny Uplifters Foundation Africa, a non-governmental organization, has successfully empowered 20 entrepreneurs aged 18 to 45 with essential resources such as seed capital, mentoring, and logistical support for their business growth. Notably, Chiamaka Amubi-Onusonye, Amarachi Okpala-Onwuamaegbu, and Ebenebe Bethel Christian received grants of N1 million each following weeks of participation in a mentoring summit in Onitsha, Anambra State.
During the grand finale of the event in Onitsha on Tuesday, Mr. Smart Ezuma, the founding president of the foundation, emphasized the organization’s commitment to addressing leadership disparities in Africa. The summit’s theme, “Creating a sustainable Africa through active leadership,” underscored the importance of mentoring young entrepreneurs and leaders to enhance their future capabilities.
Ezuma urged Nigerian youths to be innovative and intentional about shaping their futures. He highlighted the critical role of leadership in all aspects of life and encouraged young individuals (aged 18 to 45) to capitalize on this period, referring to it as the “afternoon session of life.” He expressed the belief that correcting leadership mindsets at a young age could contribute to a brighter future for Africa.

Valentine Ozigbo, former Transcorp boss, also spoke at the event, emphasizing the significance of emotional intelligence for success in various endeavors. He encouraged participants, especially the youth, to pursue their goals with passion and strive for excellence, essential elements for achieving success.
Sharing his life story, Dr. Ikenna Ifejiofor, Managing Director of Ike God Foods Industries Ltd, stressed the importance of mindset in leadership. Ifejiofor advised participants to dream big while starting small, highlighting the transformative power of a positive and determined mindset.
During the summit, Pastor Sam Obiorah of Life of Faith Gospel Assembly, Ngozi Ezeasor, Oluwatoyin Taiwo Banjo, Dr. Godson Iroh, and Prof. Olusegun Sogbesan of Onitsha Business School also addressed the audience. They emphasized the need for Nigerian youths to focus on acquiring practical skills, considering the diminishing availability of white-collar jobs in public offices in Nigeria.
A significant highlight of the summit was a business pitching session, where selected entrepreneurs showcased their projects. Three entrepreneurs emerged victorious in the competition, each receiving one million naira to boost their businesses.
This remarkable initiative, facilitated by the Ultimate Destiny Uplifters Foundation Africa, not only provided tangible support to budding entrepreneurs but also fostered a platform for valuable insights and mentorship, contributing to the development of a more sustainable and empowered African leadership landscape.
