The national secretariat of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) has expressed concern over the ongoing leadership crisis within the Abia State chapter of the party.
In a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary of YPP, Egbeola Wale Martins, the party called for the maintenance of the status quo ante pending the resolution of the crisis through ongoing interventions.
The statement affirmed that Mr. Uluocha Nelccin Chiemezuo, who was suspended by the State Working Committee (SWC) last week, remains the recognized Chairman of the Abia State chapter of YPP.

The party cautioned against the actions of Uzodinma Nwoko, who was recently appointed as the acting Chairman by the SWC, advising him to refrain from assuming the role.
Furthermore, the YPP warned that it would take “extreme measures” against stakeholders who continue to disregard the directives of the national body regarding the crisis.
The party emphasized that it is committed to upholding order and discipline within its ranks and condemned the current discord in its Abia State chapter.
The statement concluded by reiterating the party’s stance on the matter, emphasizing its commitment to restoring order and stability within the Abia State chapter of the YPP.
It is worth noting that Mr. Uluocha Nelccin Chiemezuo was suspended as the YPP State Chairman in Abia State after accepting a position as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Umuahia North LGA Chairman, Victor Ikeji.
