Rep. Aminu Jaji (APC-Zamfara) has welcomed Mallam Muhammad Kabir-Sani, the 2023 Zamfara governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Kabir-Sani defected alongside members of the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State House of Assembly candidates’ forum, bringing thousands of their supporters into the APC under the Jajiyya APC political movement, led by Alhaji Isiyaka Ajiya-Anka.
The defectors formally announced their switch to the ruling party after a meeting with Jaji at his residence in Gusau.

Reasons for Defection
Explaining the move, Kabir-Sani cited confidence in Jaji’s leadership and contributions to the development of Zamfara and his constituency as key reasons for joining the APC.
Similarly, Ibrahim Labbo-Anka, representing the PDP State House of Assembly candidates’ forum, said their decision was based on the APC’s dominance in Zamfara politics.
“We had meaningful discussions with Hon. Aminu Jaji and reached a mutual understanding, leading to our decision to join APC.
We are committed to staying and working for the progress of our state,” Labbo-Anka said.
Jaji Hails Defectors, Promises Fair Treatment
Jaji, who chairs the House Committee on Ecological Fund, commended the new members for their decision, describing it as a boost for the APC in Zamfara and Nigeria.
He assured them of fair treatment and collaboration to strengthen the party’s presence in the state, emphasizing that their experience and influence would further enhance the Jajiyya movement and the APC’s overall strength.
“I encourage you all to remain with the APC and actively contribute your efforts toward the party’s progress,” Jaji stated.
Jajiyya Movement’s Role in APC Growth
Alhaji Isiyaka Ajiya-Anka, the State Chairman of the APC-Jajiyya movement, described the group as a formidable political force with strong structures across all 14 local government areas of Zamfara.
He assured the new members of full integration into the party’s activities without discrimination and urged them to remain dedicated to promoting unity, peace, and stability within the APC.
