Hon. Amiru Ahmed Keta, a member of the Zamfara State House of Assembly representing Tsafe West and Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Culture, and Tourism, has justified the supplementary budget presented by Governor Dauda Lawal.
Speaking to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital, Keta addressed questions about the supplementary budget, emphasizing the need for additional funds to address developmental gaps left by the past administration.
Keta clarified, “The past administration abandoned a lot of developmental projects that have a direct bearing on the people of Zamfara State. Immediately the committee on the budget presented the supplementary budget to the House, we deliberated on it, and after first, second, and third readings, we subsequently approved the said amount.”

He went on to contextualize the supplementary budget, stating, “The supplementary budget of over N4b is not much, considering that some other states proposed up to N20b as a supplementary budget. Here in Zamfara State, it is just a minor supplementary budget.”
Highlighting the collaborative efforts between the State House of Assembly and the executive arm, Keta expressed optimism about positive changes in the state.
He added, “Our government has achieved a lot within the few months that we were elected into office.
The State House of Assembly is working hand in hand with the executive arm to bring about these positive changes.”
The justification provided by Hon. Amiru Ahmed Keta sheds light on the strategic allocation of funds to address critical developmental needs in Zamfara State.
