Security operatives in Zamfara State have arrested a man identified as Ashiru Jijji for allegedly providing logistics support to armed bandits operating in the region.
Jijji was apprehended by the Zamfara State Community Protection Guards during a routine patrol in a high-risk area notorious for criminal activities.
According to a security source who spoke on condition of anonymity, the suspect was intercepted while transporting cartons of soft drinks and other provisions believed to be supplies for a group of bandits hiding in the forest.

“He was caught in the process of delivering the supplies. During initial questioning, he admitted that the items were meant for a specific bandit group he regularly services,” the source disclosed to Zagazola Makama.
The suspect is currently in custody and is expected to be handed over to the appropriate security agency for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Authorities have praised the arrest as a significant breakthrough in efforts to dismantle the logistics network sustaining bandit operations in the state.
They also emphasized the vital role of community-led security initiatives in identifying threats and aiding government forces in restoring peace across Zamfara.
