The Zamfara State Government has distanced itself from individuals claiming to be Federal Government agents planning to negotiate with bandits to address security challenges in the state.
In a statement by the State Commissioner of Information and Culture, Comrade Mannir Mua’zu Hidara Haura, the government stated that it is not part of the planned negotiations with bandits and does not support such actions.
The government emphasized that Governor Dauda Lawal has repeatedly announced that his administration has no plans to negotiate or support any peace accord with bandits in the state.

It described the planned talks as politically motivated by enemies of the state to undermine the government’s efforts in fighting banditry.
The statement called on the public and security agencies to reject the movement of these individuals in the state, as their actions are against the wishes of the people of Zamfara State.
It reassured the public of the government’s commitment to collaborating with security agencies to ensure peace and protect lives and property in the state.
The government also expressed condolences to the victims of recent bandit attacks in Sakaji and Bilbis villages in Kaura Namoda and Tsafe local government areas, describing the incidents as unfortunate and unacceptable.
