Zazzau Emir urges more job creation for youths

The Emir of Zazzau, Shehu Idris has called on the Nigerian Government to create more jobs, in order to effectively address the current unemployment situation in the country.

He made the call in Zaria, Kaduna State when the Permanent Secretary, Career Management Office in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mohammed Abbas  visited the palace as part of his scheduled tour of Kaduna State to interact with the federal civil servants in the State.

Shehu Idris expressed concern over the growing number of unemployed youths in the country which he said does not augur well with the present security challenges in the country. The Emir commended the Head of the Civil of the Federation, Bukar Goni Aji for creating a platform where federal civil servants serving in the States could interact with their Permanent Secretaries for the benefit of expressing ideas on how to render better services to the grassroots citizens of Nigeria.

He advised the federal workers in Kaduna State to remain focused, disciplined and to avoid any intent to engage in corrupt practices, while discharging their official responsibilities.

Speaking earlier at the occasion, the Permanent Secretary in the Career Management Office (HOS) informed the Emir that the Federal Permanent Secretaries have been directed by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation to visit their respective States of origin to interact with Federal Civil Servants and other relevant stakeholders in the States.

‘This interaction, according to him, would help in evaluating the effectiveness of service delivery by Federal Civil Servants in the States and determine how best their performance could be enhanced, especially in the area of implementation of projects and programmes under the transformation agenda of the Nigerian Government.’

Mohammed Abbas also stated that the exercise involved the conduct of needs assessment and identification of the challenges of Federal Civil Servants in terms of welfare,  performance, operational environment, availability of infrastructure, tools and systems of operation as well as cordiality of relationships with their host communities.
