Zenith General Insurance Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) by donating essential supplies and financial support to several orphanages across Lagos State. The gesture, according to the company, is part of its broader mission to improve the lives of vulnerable children and promote social welfare in communities where it operates.
The company’s management team, led by its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Kehinde Borisade, visited a number of orphanage homes in Lagos, including Little Saints Orphanage, SOS Children’s Village, and Heritage Homes. During the visits, the team presented food items, hygiene products, educational materials, and financial donations to support the children’s upkeep and development.

Borisade noted that the initiative aligns with Zenith General Insurance’s values of compassion, community engagement, and social inclusion. He explained that as a responsible corporate organisation, the company recognises the importance of giving back to society, particularly to disadvantaged children who need care and support to thrive.
“At Zenith General Insurance, we believe our responsibility goes beyond providing insurance protection; it also involves touching lives and empowering those in need,” he said. “Our visit to these orphanages reflects our enduring belief that every child deserves love, dignity, and a fair opportunity to succeed in life.”
The Managing Director emphasised that the company’s CSR philosophy is rooted in sustainable community development. He added that Zenith General Insurance will continue to invest in education, health, and welfare initiatives that uplift the less privileged and contribute to national growth.
During the donation, the company’s representatives interacted with the children and caregivers, offering words of encouragement and engaging in fun activities designed to bring smiles to their faces. The event was filled with excitement as the children expressed joy and appreciation for the visit.
Speaking on behalf of one of the beneficiary homes, Mrs. Abimbola Oduwole, Coordinator of Heritage Homes, commended Zenith General Insurance for its kindness and consistency in supporting social welfare initiatives. She noted that such gestures make a tangible difference in the lives of the children, especially during a period of rising living costs.
“Support like this reminds us that we are not alone in caring for these children,” Oduwole said. “We are truly grateful to Zenith General Insurance for their generosity and compassion. This contribution will go a long way in meeting the children’s daily needs and improving their wellbeing.”
Similarly, representatives of the SOS Children’s Village in Isolo praised the company for demonstrating empathy and corporate responsibility. They called on other private organisations to emulate Zenith’s example by contributing to the development of socially inclusive programmes.
The donations included foodstuffs such as rice, beans, beverages, and noodles; personal care items like soap and toiletries; as well as learning materials and financial assistance to aid the homes’ maintenance. The company also pledged to sustain the initiative as an annual tradition, ensuring continuous support for orphanages and vulnerable groups across Nigeria.
Borisade reiterated that Zenith General Insurance sees CSR not as a publicity tool but as a moral obligation to contribute positively to society. “Our goal is to make a lasting impact. We want these children to know that they are valued, loved, and capable of achieving great things. This is part of our promise to build a more caring and inclusive Nigeria,” he said.
He further assured that the organisation will expand its humanitarian reach to other states, with plans already in place for similar donations in Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Kano. The initiative forms part of the company’s annual “Zenith Cares” programme, which focuses on child welfare, community health, and environmental sustainability.
Employees of the company also took part in the outreach, volunteering their time and resources to assist in logistics and interaction with the children. Many described the experience as deeply fulfilling, highlighting the joy that comes with giving back to the community.
Zenith General Insurance has over the years built a strong reputation for social impact initiatives, ranging from scholarships and health interventions to community development projects. The company’s CSR activities complement its business objectives by fostering goodwill and strengthening public trust in the brand.
Industry stakeholders have commended the insurer’s sustained commitment to humanitarian causes, noting that corporate social responsibility remains vital in bridging gaps in education, welfare, and healthcare. They encouraged other firms in the financial services sector to follow suit and contribute meaningfully to national development.
Through this outreach, Zenith General Insurance continues to position itself as not only a leader in Nigeria’s insurance industry but also a company with a heart for the people. Its consistent investment in humanitarian and community support initiatives underscores its belief that businesses thrive best in societies where people and communities are empowered.
As the outreach concluded, the company reiterated its promise to stand by the orphanages and support their long-term sustainability. “Our mission is simple — to spread hope, inspire confidence, and show that kindness remains a powerful force for change,” Borisade affirmed.
