TORONTO, ONTARIO–(Marketwired – Feb. 27, 2014) – ZoomerMedia Limited (TSX VENTURE:ZUM) (the “Company”), the leader in serving the interests of the 45+ “Zoomer” market in Canada, today announced its financial results for the second quarter ended December 31, 2013.

    Consolidated Results

For the three months ended December 31, 2013, the Company had revenues of $14.4 million, operating expenses of $13.4 million and EBITDA of $1.0 million. The net loss for the quarter was $449,092. For the comparable three months ended December 31, 2012, the Company had revenues of $14.9 million, operating expenses of $12.5 million and EBITDA of $1.6 million. Net income for the quarter was $736,111.

For the six months ended December 31, 2013, the Company had revenues of $27.1 million, operating expenses of $24.3 million and EBITDA of $2.8 million. The net loss for the period was $80,800. For the comparable six months ended December 31, 2012, the Company had revenues of $28.2 million, operating expenses of $23.3 million and EBITDA of $4.9 million. Net income for the period was $1.7 million.

EBITDA is a non-IFRS earnings measure which does not have any standardized meaning prescribed by IFRS and therefore may not be comparable to EBITDA presented by other companies. EBITDA represents earnings before interest expense, income taxes, depreciation and amortization. This measure is important to management since it is used by potential investors to evaluate the Company’s operating performance and ability to incur and service debt, and as a valuation metric. Investors are cautioned that this non-IFRS financial measure should not be construed as an alternative to other measures of financial performance calculated in accordance with IFRS.

    Additional Information

Detailed financial information and Management’s Discussion and Analysis for the three and six months ended December 31, 2013 can be found on SEDAR’s website at www.sedar.com. The financial information included in this release is qualified in its entirety and should be read together with the interim consolidated financial statements for the three and six months ended December 31, 2013 and the audited consolidated financial statements for the year ended June 30, 2013, including the notes thereto.
