Members of the Governing Council of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), have been tasked to see their appointment as a call to service and make their modest contributions towards restoring the lost glory of the institution
Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun threw this challenge in Abeokuta while inaugurating the council headed by an educationist, Iyalode Alaba Lawson.
Amosun underscored the need for them to quickly settle down to work, emphasizing that educational development remained the nucleus of his administration’s mission to rebuild.
“Out of all our cardinal programmes, education is the most important, it drives all other sectors and that is why we must get our tertiary institutions right as it is the bedrock of development. You need to bring to bear your varied experiences in the development of the polytechnic. As a government, we will support you to succeed, we don’t need to get involved except on few occasions when we need to interface with each other”, Amosun remarked.
Explaining the long delay before constituting the Council, Governor Amosun said the need to search thoroughly to get credible people with complimentary pedigree to reposition the school was responsible and enjoined members to give their all to the new assignment.
Responding, Iyalode Lawson affirmed that members of the Council were ready and committed to the dream of revitalizing the institution and restoring its good old days of academic excellence.
