PDPThe Peoples Democratic Party in the Federal Capital Territory on Wednesday assured its senatorial and House of Representatives aspirants for 2015 elections of free, fair and transparent primaries.

The FCT PDP Youth Leader, Mr. Sunday Zaka, gave the assurance after the party’s meeting in Kuje, FCT.

Zaka told the News Agency of Nigeria that the party would not manipulate the electoral process in favour of any aspirant.

He said the nature and quality of aspirants in the party showed that vibrancy and potency existed in the party.

He added that such development was good and healthy in a democratic process.

The youth leader said that currently four aspirants had indicated interest for the senatorial positions and four for the House of Representatives.

He said the party had good programmes, including agriculture, education, health, infrastructure development and empowerment of youths.

Zaka said that PDP would come out stronger, vibrant and more united after the party’s primaries.

“Any of the aspirants that would ensure our victory would be supported, irrespective of his ethno-religious background”, he said.

He added that the party would avert any form of violence during and after the primary elections to ensure peaceful co-existence in the FCT.

He dismissed speculations that all PDP incumbents had automatic tickets, assuring that the primaries would hold on Dec. 6 for the House of Representatives, Dec. 8 for the Senate and Dec. 10 for the President. (NAN)
