Few weeks ago, all political players and watchers in Ogun State were greeted with the rumour that the Ogun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2019 gubernatorial hopeful, Hon (Dr) Oladipupo Olatunde Adebutu, had defected to All Progressive Congress (APC) to pursue his political aspiration.
Our initial view was to ignore it as part of the falsehood expected at this material time. We believe it was one of the APC propagandas designed to give life to their sinking party as they have realised the popularity and acceptability of Hon Adebutu amongst the good people of Ogun State.
However, the alarming proportion with which the rumour has kept reverberating tends to give it a semblance of truthfulness and credence. Consequently, it is imperative to set the record straight:
A . Hon Adebutu remains a bonafide card carrying member of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State.
B . Adebutu’s ambition to become the Chief Executive Officer of the state is still very much on course as he recently obtained and submitted his nomination form at the National Headquarters of PDP, Abuja.
C . Adebutu has undergone screening and cleared to participate in the PDP Governorship primaries coming up on Saturday, September 30, 2018.
D . He nurses no agenda to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party to any party whatsoever.
Therefore, we use this medium to appreciate and equally admonish all party faithful and the general public to henceforth ignore such rumour anytime it resurfaces.
We enjoin you to remain steadfast in your love and undiluted support for Hon Ladi Adebutu in his quest to pilot the affairs of our great state come 2019.
