The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) South East Forum has urged APC to concede its 2023 presidential ticket to the South East if they want a high number of votes from the zone.
The forum leader, Mr. Lawrence Onuchukwu revealed this in a statement in Abuja in support of Gov. Nasir el-Rufai’s call for the rotational convention from northern Nigeria to South.
According to him, the South East zone is the only zone in southern Nigeria that is yet to give Nigeria a president since the rotation convention dispensation that started in 1999.
He added that it is important because the reason for the country’s unbroken democracy is the rotation of power.
His words, “The APC as ruling party must do everything possible to concede its presidential ticket to a South easterner in 2023 to attract massive vote and a landslide victory for the presidential election.”
“It’s no magic that Nigeria has experienced over 20 years unbroken democracy; it is all due to the rotation of power that has been going on since 1999 to date.”
