The African Democratic Congress, ADC, governorship candidate in Abia State, Kalu Kalu, has challenged Governor Alex Otti to identify a single project executed by his administration in Ohafia Local Government Area.
Kalu said he would withdraw from the 2027 governorship race if Otti could produce evidence of even one completed state government project in the local government.

He issued the challenge during an interview on Arise TV’s The Morning Show on Friday, October 2, 2026.
Kalu, who hails from Ohafia, claimed that the local government had received more than N16 billion in allocations over the past three and a half years but alleged that residents had not seen any corresponding project executed by the state government.
He challenged the governor and his aides to identify any project undertaken for the people of Ohafia, insisting that he would abandon his governorship ambition if one could be presented.
The ADC candidate also alleged that Ohafia had been without electricity for close to a decade, describing the lack of power supply as one of the challenges confronting residents.
Speaking on his plans for Abia if elected, Kalu said his administration would prioritise creating opportunities for young people and restoring their confidence in the state.
He said many young Nigerians were leaving the country in search of better opportunities because of economic hardship and lack of prospects.
Kalu expressed confidence that his administration would create an environment where young people could remain in Abia and pursue meaningful opportunities without having to relocate elsewhere.
His comments come as political activities intensify in Abia ahead of the 2027 governorship election, with political parties and candidates increasingly focusing on their records, development claims and campaign promises.
