Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Ali Modu Sheriff has accused factional leader, Ahmed Makarfi of plotting to purchase a favourable judgment at the Supreme Court.
Makarfi has approached the apex court over a Court of Appeal decision which named Sheriff the rightful chairman of the party.
The allegation was made by Sheriff’s deputy, Dr Cairo Ojougboh on the chairman’s behalf.
“We make bold to say nobody can buy the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court cannot be bought, and that the party has implicit confidence in the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Samuel Walter Onnoghen and his colleagues in the Supreme Court,” he said.
The PDP has been battling a leadership since May 2015 when it attempted to remove Sheriff as chairman.
