Atiku Abubakar’s 2023 presidential campaign adviser Daniel Bwala has criticized the Federal Government for the recent increase in gas prices.
Bwala complained that Nigerians are going through’shege’ again due to the unexpected increase in the price of gasoline.
He questioned the logic behind making Nigerians pay the international market price for fuel but failing to pay them the international minimum wage.

Bwala tweeted that when former President Muhammadu Buhari was spotted hiking near Daura, Katsina State, he issued a warning to the people of Nigeria.
If Bwala is to be believed, then, “Are our workers paid the international minimum wage rate, given that we are compelled to purchase the fuel at the international market price?” Do the norms of other countries compare favorably with ours? When IBB last enacted an IMF/World Bank structural adjustment program, Nigeria entered the global slave market.
When Buhari was walking around the streets of Daura rather than driving, he was telling us stories and giving us advice in parables. But the message went over our heads. New waves of shege walahi are on the horizon.
“Chai, gas prices have gone up a lot recently. To God be the glory, e Dey is on the money. A dollar now buys 815 naira as of September. Our faith in Dey, I renew?
NNPC raised the price of gasoline by around N17 per liter on Tuesday.
As a result of the elimination of the fuel subsidy, the price of gasoline has recently risen to almost N500 per liter.
