The Abia State Police Command has launched an investigation into a viral video showing police officers invading the live studio of an Umuahia-based online Radio/TV station, ABN, during an arrest operation.
According to Mr. Ifeanyi Okali, the Director of ABN, the police officers stormed the station’s Azikiwe road location in Umuahia during a live program titled “Youths Rendezvous” to arrest a guest, Mr. Donald Udensi.
Okali reported that the officers not only arrested his guest but also allegedly destroyed equipment such as microphones, a laptop computer, and a camera inside the studio.

The incident sparked outrage among media practitioners in Abia State, prompting the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Maureen Chinaka, to respond.
Chinaka stated that the Abia State Police Command is actively investigating the situation depicted in the viral video.
She assured the public that the matter would be thoroughly addressed, and appropriate action would be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
Chinaka called for calm among the public while the investigation is ongoing.
The investigation by the Abia State Police Command is seen as a crucial step in addressing the concerns raised by the ABN director and the wider media community in the state.
It remains to be seen what outcomes the investigation will yield and how the authorities will respond to the incident.
