Blinken made this statement during his visit to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) General Secretariat, where he participated in a joint ministerial meeting with the foreign ministers of the GCC countries.
Local media reported that the discussions focused on enhancing relations and cooperation between the US and the GCC countries, as well as the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, particularly in Rafah.

Both sides emphasized the urgent need for a ceasefire and efforts to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Additionally, Blinken held a separate meeting with Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah at the GCC headquarters to discuss efforts to strengthen bilateral ties and the situation in Gaza.
During his visit to Riyadh, the US Secretary of State also participated in a special meeting of the World Economic Forum.
