The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has apprehended Damilare Ajiboye, also known as ‘Na God,’ a notorious drug kingpin who had been on the run for 12 months.
Ajiboye’s arrest followed a raid on his warehouse in the Akala, Mushin area of Lagos.
In a statement released on Sunday in Abuja, NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi confirmed that the suspect was arrested on Wednesday.

The raid, which took place on 4 September 2023, resulted in the recovery of 1,101 kilograms of Ghana Loud, a potent strain of cannabis, from Ajiboye’s warehouse.
Babafemi further disclosed that Ajiboye was apprehended at a bank in Ogun State following well-coordinated efforts by the agency’s Directorate of Assets and Financial Investigation.
The investigation traced 20 bank accounts linked to the suspect, which were subsequently blocked, leading to his eventual capture.
In a related operation, NDLEA operatives in Lagos arrested a wanted community leader, Alhaji Bashir Talba, the Sarkin Yamma of Badagry, on Friday.
His arrest came after the apprehension of his two wives and son, along with the seizure of 226.2 kilograms of cannabis from their homes in Badagry on 18 September.
In another Lagos operation, NDLEA officers recovered 9.7 kilograms of cannabis sativa and 50 litres of ‘monkey tail,’ a locally fermented mix of cannabis and dry gin.
The discovery was made at the residence of a suspect, Florence Moses, in the Badore area of Ajah, Lekki, on 24 September.
Meanwhile, in Kogi State, NDLEA operatives arrested three suspects—Owolabi Dele, 42; Ayodele Monday, 40; and Olawale Ojo, 22—along the Okene-Lokoja-Abuja expressway.
The trio were found transporting 132 sacks of cannabis, weighing a total of 2,062 kilograms, in a Mercedes container truck en route from Osun State to Dei-Dei in Abuja.
Babafemi confirmed that investigations are ongoing, and the NDLEA remains committed to intensifying its efforts in curbing drug trafficking across the country.
