The Kano State Police Command has announced the arrest of two suspects in connection with an armed robbery and attempted murder incident that occurred at Bera Estate, Chevron, Lagos.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, disclosed the development in a statement on Saturday
He said operatives of the Command, acting on credible intelligence, apprehended the suspects on 11 September 2025 at Na’ibawa Quarters in Kano.

The suspects were identified as 25-year-old Mathew Adewole of Na’ibawa Quarters, Kano, and 31-year-old Mukhtar Muhammad of Unguwa Uku Quarters, Kano.
According to SP Kiyawa, Adewole confessed to attacking a resident of Bera Estate, identified as Lil-Kesh, on 19 August 2025. The attack left the victim with severe injuries, including a deep cut to the neck, in what police described as a failed attempt at armed robbery and murder.
The police spokesperson further revealed that Adewole compelled the victim to transfer ₦2,120,000 from his mobile phone to an account belonging to his accomplice, Muhammad.
He noted that the operation was conducted in line with the directives of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, who has charged commands nationwide to intensify intelligence-led policing, strengthen community collaboration, and foster strategic partnerships in tackling crime.
SP Kiyawa added that the suspects have been transferred to the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.

He also expressed appreciation to members of the public for their cooperation, stressing that the Command remains committed to ensuring peace and security.
“The Kano State Police Command remains committed to maintaining law and public order in the state, working closely with other security agencies and stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to combating crime,” CP Bakori stated.
