The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, in Osun State has disclosed that two members of the 2024 Batch C were conferred with the Osun State Honours Award.
The scheme also revealed that while 2,353 corps members successfully completed their one-year mandatory national youth service, 23 corps members absconded and 36 had their service extended for various breaches of the NYSC rules.
The Osun State Coordinator of the NYSC, Agbor Ndoma Obim, made the disclosure on Thursday during the passing-out ceremony for the corps members held in Osogbo.

Agbor, who monitored the exercise in Osogbo and Olorunda local government areas to ensure strict compliance with established guidelines, said the corps members who completed the service year comprised 1,047 males and 1,306 females.
“A total of 2,353 corps members comprising 1,047 males and 1,306 females successfully completed the service year, while 23 corps members absconded and 36 had their service extended for various breaches of the Scheme’s rules,” he said.
The state coordinator congratulated the corps members on the successful completion of their service and urged them to remain law-abiding, patriotic and good ambassadors of the scheme in their future endeavours.
Those who received the Osun State Honours Award are Ayodele Babatunde Oluwasesan (Code No. 3649), who served with the Ministry of Political Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations, and Omile Jennifer Onyinye (Code No. 3483), who served at the Comprehensive Health Centre, Igbajo.
Presenting the certificates of award on behalf of the State Governing Board, Agbor commended the awardees for their dedication, discipline and impactful service during the service year.
The passing-out ceremony was held simultaneously across all local government areas of the state in line with the directive of the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters.
