The Nigeria Police Force has arrested no fewer than six suspects over the alleged hacking of a telecommunication company’s systems in Nigeria.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday.

According to Hundeyin, the suspects allegedly gained unlawful access to the core systems of the telecommunication company and diverted airtime and mobile data valued at about N7.7 billion.
He said investigations revealed that the suspects exploited the company’s internal platforms to carry out the illegal diversion, causing significant financial losses.
The police spokesperson added that the suspects are currently in custody and are being interrogated, while efforts are ongoing to uncover other accomplices involved in the cybercrime.
Hundeyin assured that the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to tackling cyber-related crimes and protecting critical national infrastructure.
Further details on the arrest and investigation are expected to be made public later.
