The Ogun State Police Command, in collaboration with other security agencies and key government stakeholders, has conducted a high-level joint operational assessment and show of force across strategic communities from Itele-Ijebu to the Ondo State border.
The exercise was aimed at reinforcing security along the Ogun–Ondo border corridor, including the Ogun Waterside axis covering Iwopin, Abigi and Ibiade.
It was also designed to consolidate the gains of “Operation Kosaye” and sustain ongoing efforts to combat crime and other criminal activities across the state.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the show of force was intended to reassure residents, commuters and other road users of the readiness of security agencies to protect lives and property, maintain security dominance in the corridor and respond swiftly to emerging threats.
Babaseyi quoted the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, as commending the level of cooperation demonstrated by participating security agencies, government officials and other critical stakeholders.
The police commissioner urged residents to remain security conscious, stay vigilant and continue to provide timely, credible and actionable intelligence to security agencies, stressing that effective policing requires collaboration between law enforcement agencies and the public.
According to the statement, the operational assessment covered the Ijebu Ode–Ore Expressway, passing through J2, J3, J4, Itele, Atoyo, Agerige, Ogbere, Ibiade, Iwopin and Abigi in Ogun Waterside before terminating at Ajebandele, the boundary community between Ogun and Ondo states.
“The assessment also strengthened inter-agency coordination and provided an opportunity to engage relevant stakeholders towards enhancing intelligence gathering and promoting community participation in crime prevention.
“It also sent a clear message that the Ogun–Ondo border corridor remains under continuous dominance and coordinated inter-agency security monitoring,” the statement read.
Ojajuni reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustaining joint security operations, strengthening intelligence sharing, leveraging modern policing technology and deepening collaboration with communities to prevent crime and enhance public safety across Ogun State.
The joint operational assessment was attended by the Security Consultant to the Ogun State Governor, retired Commissioner of Police Edward Ajogun; Commander of the 35 Artillery Brigade, Brig. Gen. J.O. Onu; the Director of the Department of State Services, DSS, in the state, R.A. Adelakun; and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, State Commandant, Remilekun Ekundayo.
Also present were the Commander of the Ogun State Amotekun Corps, retired Brig. Gen. Alade Adedigba; Commander of the So-Safe Corps, Soji Ganzallo; as well as the chairmen of Ijebu East, Ijebu North-East and Ogun Waterside Local Government Areas.
