    Abia PDP Passes Vote Of Confidence On Ikpeazu Over Decision On Flagbearer

    The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State has applauded Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for his determination and resolve to ensure that the party’s governorship candidate for the 2023 election emerges through the decision of the party.

    Party members also passed a vote of confidence on the Governor and State leader of the party, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu for his administration’s giant developmental strides in every part of the state, including his outstanding improvement in foreign direct investment as captured by the records of the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Bureau of Statistics as well as his constructive engagement with the party to define the way forward and determine issues which affect 2023 elections.

    Rising from an enlarged meeting of members of the Abia leadership of Peoples Democratic Party; comprising members of the State Working Committee, State Executive Committee members, Local Government Executive Committee members and Principal officers of the one hundred and eighty-four (184) wards in the state, with Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, held at International Conference Centre (ICC), Umuahia, on Wednesday, the committee members, lauded the decision of the State Governor on the party’s flag bearer.

    This was disclosed in a communique signed and issued by the State Chairman of the PDP, Alwell Asiforo Okere and the Secretary, Barrister David Iro, at the end of the party’s meeting, on Thursday.

    The Abia PDP members also promised to mobilize all party resources to work for the success of all party candidates at the upcoming 2023 general election in the state.

    They agreed to work in harmony for the overall success of the party while urging chieftains to queue behind the party’s candidates at all levels to guarantee victory at the polls.

    The communique partly said, ”For Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s giant strides and developments in the state, for his ability to make Abia State the West African hub for Small and Medium Enterprises.

    ” For the peaceful political atmosphere in the State, for the robust inter-party relations in the state, for the valuable indices from agencies of the Federal Government which has portrayed Abia State in good light, for his commitment to providing working tools to the State Working Committee of the party, for his constructive engagement with the party to define the way forward to determine issues which affect 2023 elections, the Party, do hereby, pass a vote of implicit confidence on the State Governor and Leader of the People’s Democratic Party in the State, Dr.Okezie Victor Ikpeazu”.
