All Progressives Congress chieftains in the South West yesterday said the party would not be caught napping in next month’s Adamawa State governorship by-election.
The APC chieftains, who were drawn from Osun, Ekiti, Oyo, Ondo, Lagos, Ogun and Kogi states, made this position known in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The chieftains, who converged under the aegis of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar Collectives, AAA, said the Adamawa election would not be like that of Ekiti State, which they claimed was stolen by the leadership of the PDP with alleged connivance of the presidency.
Led by Bode Ajewole, the zonal leader of AAA Collectives, said, “Ekiti election was stolen by the presidency. We were caught unawares. That was why we rose up to our responsibilities in Osun State. For this coming election in Adamawa, we are very much prepared. The election will be won like that of Osun”.
They said they believed in the leadership of the former vice-president, who they said had made much impact in all ramifications of life.
According to the spokesperson of the group, “we are friends of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar from the entire South Western states and Kogi. We are convinced beyond reasonable doubt that Atiku winning the primaries of our great party will be the beginning of the party’s success in next year’s presidential elections”.
