Adamawa Labour Party crisis deepens as faction rejects chairman’s suspension

The crisis within the Labour Party (LP) in Adamawa State has deepened following the rejection of the suspension of the party’s state chairman by a faction of the party.

The faction dismissed the purported suspension as invalid, insisting that the state chairman remains in office and continues to enjoy the confidence of members.

The development has further widened the division within the party as rival groups continue to disagree over the leadership and administration of the state chapter.

Those opposed to the suspension argued that the decision did not follow the appropriate procedures outlined in the party’s constitution and therefore could not be recognised.

The faction also accused those behind the move of attempting to create confusion within the party and undermine its leadership ahead of future electoral activities.

It called on Labour Party members in the state to remain calm and avoid actions that could further escalate the crisis.

The group urged the national leadership of the party to intervene and resolve the disagreement in accordance with the party’s constitution.

The latest development is expected to intensify calls for reconciliation among the various factions as the party seeks to restore unity and strengthen its structure in Adamawa State.
