ADC denies allegations of irregularities in Katsina primary election

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed allegations of irregularities in its governorship primary election in Katsina State, insisting that the exercise was conducted in line with the party’s constitution and the Electoral Act.

The party said claims that the primary was manipulated or lacked transparency were false and intended to discredit a process it described as free, fair and credible.

Reacting to the allegations, the ADC maintained that all aspirants were given equal opportunities to participate in the exercise and that the eventual outcome reflected the will of delegates.

The party noted that the primary election was supervised in accordance with established guidelines, adding that due process was followed throughout the exercise.

ADC also urged aggrieved members to channel their grievances through the party’s internal dispute resolution mechanisms instead of making public allegations capable of creating unnecessary tension.

According to the party, internal democracy remains one of its core principles, and every complaint backed by credible evidence would be fairly considered through the appropriate channels.

The party appealed to members to remain united and focus on preparations for the 2027 general elections, stressing that collective efforts would strengthen its chances at the polls.

ADC reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, fairness and democratic values, expressing confidence that the outcome of its Katsina primary would withstand any legitimate scrutiny.
