The Youth Wing of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a strong warning to political elites, declaring that the party’s mandate and structures cannot be hijacked or sold off to opportunistic power seekers.
In a statement released on Friday and endorsed by State Youth Leaders, Secretaries, Women Leaders, and grassroots coordinators nationwide, the Youth Wing accused some politicians of attempting to exploit the party’s hard-earned credibility under the guise of forming a coalition.
The statement, signed by the ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Musa Matara, emphasized that while the party supports genuine coalitions or alliances, any merger must be formal, transparent, and rooted in integrity and national interest.

“Any coalition must involve consultations with the entire party structure, including State Executives, Zonal and Local Government Leaders, the Youth Wing at all levels, Women Leaders, and our grassroots coordinators,” the statement said. “No such consultations have taken place to justify recent claims of mass leadership resignations or structural realignments.”
The Youth Wing reaffirmed that the ADC is not a haven for “political migrants” hopping from one party to another in pursuit of selfish ambitions.
“ADC has a deeply entrenched structure from the national level down to the polling unit and it cannot be hijacked or rebranded by opportunism,” the group said. “We do not promote political promiscuity. In our party, what matters is integrity, credibility, and genuine passion for service — not money-driven politics.”
They called on Nigerian youths, women, people with disabilities, and all patriotic citizens to rally behind the ADC’s vision for national transformation, describing the party as “the last credible alternative on Nigeria’s political landscape.”
“To the new entrants and political migrants: we welcome only those who share our values and mission for national transformation. ADC is not just a political party; it is a mission-driven movement for national liberation, justice, and development,” the statement concluded.
The declaration comes amid growing realignment efforts by opposition figures who recently adopted the ADC as the platform for a broad coalition to challenge President Bola Tinubu’s reelection bid in 2027.
