Human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju, has alleged that Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, is positioning himself to replace Nyesom Wike as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in 2027.
Adeyanju made the claim in a video shared on his social media page, where he also described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a distraction.
The activist further alleged that many members of the opposition party were working in favour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“PDP is a distraction; what is dead may never die again. I don’t want to bother myself about PDP now because everybody there is working for Tinubu,” he said.
According to him, political actors within the party are primarily focused on securing bargaining power ahead of future political alignments.
“They are just looking for who will have the most bargaining chip. Seyi Makinde wants to replace Wike and maybe he will become the next FCT minister in 2027,” Adeyanju alleged.
He added that such political calculations were tied to strategies for the 2027 general elections.
“So it is more or less about how to make Tinubu return in 2027. I will not join them in their caricature; I don’t have their time,” he said.
