Manchester United’s Adnan Januzaj believes he is learning a lot from Louis van Gaal and that the club will finish in the top four of the Premier League this season.
.
Januzaj has struggled to get into the Man United team so far this season and has had to play in an unusual wing back role when he has been called upon by Van Gaal.
.
Despite this, the 20-year-old has remained positive and produced a fine performance in last weekend’s win over Leicester City.
.
Speaking about his role in the team, Januzaj said: “The different formation means a few things have changed but I’m really happy to work under him [Van Gaal] and hopefully we can work together for a long time.
.
“He asked me to do the best for the team so that’s what I’m trying to do.
.
“We’re going to focus this year to be in the top four and next season we want to win the league. We’ve got a great team, a great manager and we can do it.”
.
It’s great to hear how happy Januzaj is under Van Gaal despite getting less game time. Instead of being frustrated, he is working hard to make new opportunities for himself.
.
Januzaj has failed to make an impact so far this campaign after an encouraging breakthrough season under David Moyes last year, but was finally given a chance to impress against Leicester on Saturday.
.
The Belgian was a surprise addition to the starting line-up against Nigel Pearson’s men in among the likes of Wayne Rooney, Radamel Falcao and Angel Di Maria but Januzaj showed he could more than hold his own alongside his illustrious teammates.
.
It was an encouraging display and Man United fans will hope Januzaj can push on in the second half of the season.
