In the regions of Ajigin and Banki Junction in Borno State, the aviation component of the combined military task force that is part of Operation Hadin Kai has been successful in eliminating a number of terrorists.
Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, who serves as the Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, stated that the two massive air strikes that took place on November 8 and November 11 were both successful.
According to him, the military operations to conduct the interdictions were a continuation of their efforts to clear the areas of any remaining terrorists.
According to him, the terrorists had refined their preparations to target the locations of the army around Damboa and Wajiroko. He added that the militants had concealed four gun trucks under thick shrubbery.
He also mentioned that three of the gun trucks were hit, which was evident by the massive black smoke and fire that emanated from them following the strike. Following the strike, the last gun truck was spotted speeding away from the location.
“The fleeing truck was subsequently followed for approximately 26 kilometers until it disappeared under a tree. However, it was hit and observed to be on fire with no sign of movement at the location,” the author writes.
It is safe to say that the terrorists’ capacity to launch attacks against friendly forces and civilians in the region has been significantly hampered as a result of the destruction of the four gun trucks and the people who were inside them, as he explained.
