“Nolly Thursdays” which has been described as the new Industry Night” for the Nigerian film industry, is geared towards promoting and celebrating Nollywood movies (old and new) in the cinema.
The next edition of the event is set to hold on Thursday, May 11, 2016, with Alexx Ekubo headlining. Ekubo’s latest movie “ATM,” will also screen at event.
Born Alex Ekubo-Okwaraeke on April 10, 1986, Alexx Ekubo is a Nigerian actor and model. He is from Arochukwu, Abia State. He attended the Federal Government College Daura, Katsina State, further studied Law at the University of Calabar and later got a diploma in Mass Communication from Calabar Polytechnic.
He was first runner up at the 2010 Mr Nigeria contest. He won the Best Actor in a Supporting Role award at the 2013 Best of Nollywood Awards for his role in “Weekend Getaway.” Alex has featured in movies like “True Citizens,” “Dream Walker,” “Gold Digging,” “Lagos Cougars,” “The First Lady,” “Champagne,” “Death Toll,” “Gbomo Gbomo Express,” and recently “ATM.”
“ATM” is a Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen film, and tells the story of a young man (Robinson) in his late 20s, who believed the only way he can succeed is to travel overseas, get into online dating and meet a white lady.
