A group under the aegis of Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEOS) has described the recent alleged forgery of the 2014 Revised National Judicial Council (NJC) Rules over an incorruptible Judge of Osun State High Court, Justice Olamide Folahanmi Oloyede as national embarrassment and satanic in nature which was a sign of a failed judicial system in a democratic Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the group disclosed that it had concluded arrangement to begin the battle for redress of this injustice and inhuman verdict of the apex body of the bencher (NJC) against the courageous Justice Folahanmi Oloyede, saying that this injustice could not stand the test of the time because anything build on falsehood would never stand.
Speaking after the emergency meeting of the group to review its activities on the subject matter in the last few days that the NJC through its Acting Director of Information, Mr. Soji Oye handed down the outcome of its 77th meetings, the group Chairman, Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman noted that the group would fight this cause to the end by ensuring that justice was done to the courageous jurist, adding that this singular action of the NJC has brought the great stigma to the nation’s judicial system under Justice Mahmud Muhammed before the international community as the country “when money speaks, the truth is silent”.
This was contained in a Statement issued by the CSCEOS’ Directorate of Media, Research and Strategy which a copy was made available to newsmen on Sunday, explained that the group and other well meaning Nigerians at home and abroad had also concluded to honour the courageous and incorruptible jurist of the season, Justice Olamide Folahanmi Oloyede with a book to be titled; “Justice Oloyede: The Heroine of Nigeria Judiciary”.
According to the statement: “CSCEOS is not disappointed with the National Judicial council(NJC) doctored and manipulated verdict on the incorruptible Justice Olamide Folahanmi Oloyede because when five of us were still before Justice Ibrahim N. Auta led Panel of enquiry on the subject matter, the Nigerian Tribune of Wednesday 9th of March,2016 edition reported in page 16 with a caption that “Rickey Tarfa: NJC to queries Justice Yunusa, set for others probe with a rider, Report on Osun Judge ready ” without rebuttal from the National Judicial Council(NJC) till this present moment. Our appearance as a witness last before the Panel on April 22, 2016 and the Counsels for both parties made their final submission to the Auta Panel on June.
“To confirm our disposition that Governor Rauf Aregbesola bought the National Judicial Council (NJC) verdict, Aregbesola and Justice Ibrahim N. Auta were in London few days ago for inordinate meeting to review their premeditated action on Justice Olamide Oloyede and this development is a national embarrassment before the international community for the apex body of the bench in the land to throw the caution into the wind by going against its rules to unjustly recommend compulsorily retirement for incorruptible and courageous jurist at a time majority of Nigeria Judges failed corruption test”.
The statement further reads thus ,”As a result of this, NJC now fraudulently used the newly rule 1(1) and 5 of the 2016 Revised Code of Conduct for Judicial officers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to sanction incorruptible Justice Olamide Oloyede for the alleged unsubstantiated offences committed in June 2015 while the 2014 National Judicial Council –Judicial discipline Regulations were invoked for Judicial Officers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and this is a clear violation of NJC rules by attending to the Petition authored by the criminals and diabolical agenda of NJC led by Justice Mahmud Muhammed and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo with Rauf Aregbesola. We are happy to inform the whole world that NJC revised its Code of Conduct in 2016 to nail the incorruptible Justice Oloyede at all cost by acting the script of Yemi Osinbajo as a way to disrepute the President Muhammadu Buhari’s government before the International Community as lawless regime”.
“The outcome of National Judicial Council (NJC) report on Justice Oloyede lacks modicum of truth in all ramifications as CSCEOS strongly rejected the manipulation verdict of National Judicial Council (NJC) on the incorruptible and bold spirit jurist, Justice Folahanmi Oloyede and we see the NJC’s action as clear conspiracy of bias and miscarriage of Justice by acting on the frivolous Petition Letter of Osun Civil Societies Coalition (OSCS) signed by the people of questionable characters and Rauf Aregbesola Political Instruments (RAPI), upon our clear evidences in the affidavit before the Auta led- Panel without counter “Affidavit” from the Petitioners; Waheed Lawal, Sikiru Adebayo Bello and Ismail Uthman.
“In addition, Auta Panel was not considered all the evidences put before it during the trial by arriving at mysterious and satanic decision like that of killing by hanging of renown late Environmentalist, Ken Sarowiwa and eight Ogonis during the reign of despotic rule of late General Sanni Abacha which Justice Auta was the Chairman of the Panel that trying nine (9) Ogonis. But CSCEOS believes that the Almighty God that returned Justice Yerima of Ibadan High Court back to the Nigeria Bench after seven (7) years of illegal retirement by National Judicial Council (NJC) will return Justice Oloyede back to the bench with elevation, because it is now clear that anybody with contrary views on Rauf Aregbesola’s style of governance will be eliminated if such person is not working under Rauf Aregbesola’s government”, it insisted.
“We are using this medium to reiterate and inform the Nigeria People at home and abroad that our group (CSCEOS) has resolute more than ever to use all the sophisticated available legal and democratic means both nationally and internationally to ensure that this manipulated Judgment of National Judicial Council (NJC) is reversed within the shortest possible time. we are also calling on the all lovers of democracy and natural, constitutional and social justice all over the world, to shift keen attention to Osun State nay Nigeria by rising up to defend and save the courageous and incorruptible woman Judge who took her SACRED PEN to give voice to the downtrodden masses of the State, from the hands of politically motivated National Judicial Council (NJC) and their collaborators including Yemi Osinbajo and Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola”, the group submitted.
