Anyone Not Satisfied With My Academic Records Can Go To Court – Buhari

The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), yesterday, insisted that his academic certificates were submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and were duly acknowledged by the Legal Department of the commission. He therefore wondered why it remained a talking point among Nigerians.

Buhari said this in Abuja, when the Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM) formally adopted him as its presidential candidate for the February presidential election.

“Well I am not surprised. This is Nigeria. If people are serious about this issue, they ought to have listened to the Legal Adviser of INEC,” Vanguard quoted the APC presidential candidate as saying.

“This is the first time, INEC by law has got those documents and they said they have got them. So, anybody who has any different view should go to court. I think they have gone to court. So, let them remain there,” Buhari said.

Following the release of the former head of state’s academic record by the Government Secondary School, Katsina, an Abuja lawyer, Chike Okafor, on Monday, filed a suit before a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, seeking to disqualify Buhari from contesting the presidential election, saying the APC presidential candidate gave false information in the affidavit he submitted to INEC, in support of his nomination form.

      Dear Gen. Integrity Mohammadu Buhari,
This is an opportunity to demonstrate how incorruptible you are. But I am disappointed to say that you have shamed us completely.

Where is your INTEGRITY? Where is your CREDIBILTY?

So what u want to tell us the young ones is that if u become president, we will use affidavits and hurridly prepared statements of results to apply for jobs, and that even if someone with a legitimate and sealed result from WAEC or NECO loses the job in favour of one who presents a statement of result, it is nothing? And that the person should go to court for such a clear case that an employer should know what is the ethical step for him to take?

See how u, Gen. Integrity has trivialized such a very serious issue. Now, based on your non-chalant attitude to this certificate saga, how can u convince us that your acclaimed promise to fight corruption will be followed through? Anyway, why should I be surprised, u have surrounded yourself with known corrupt Nigerians like Tinubu.

I am ashamed for u. If u are really a man of integrity that u claim to be, u should know what to do at this time. At 72, I don’t think u need to be told what to do.

If u are wise, the too many words above should be more than enough for u.

      Kindest Regard,
      Musa.
