Kwankwaso was elected in 2011 for a second term tenure in Kano State but decamped to the APC during the preparation of the 2015 general elections.
Speaking to journalists in Kaduna during the seven day prayers for the late mother of Sen Shehu Sani on Saturday, May 28 2016, Kwankwaso said the APC led government is living up to expectation.
“How can we regret being in the APC when we know that we have been living up to the people’s expectation,” Kwankwaso said when asked.
The former governor, who was also a Minister of Defence in Olusegun Obasanjo’s regime, Kwakwaso, said “The journey has been smooth and good why should we regret?”
“We have done so very well and we shall continue to wax stronger and do better at the national level and as a party, APC so that the people of this country will continue to benefit from the dividends of democracy which our party has been delivering to them,” Kwankwaso added.
