In a significant move, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has established an 11-member committee tasked with evaluating the aftermath of the November 11 governorship election in Kogi State.
The inauguration, held at the party Secretariat in Lokoja on Tuesday, saw Abdullahi Bello, the APC Chairman in Kogi State, outlining the committee’s terms of reference.
Among them is the identification of anti-party activities by members, with recommendations for appropriate disciplinary measures.

Bello emphasized that the committee’s mandate extends to a comprehensive review of the roles and performances of party members involved in the election process, both before and after the exercise.
The committee is expected to scrutinize the election’s processes and execution in each local government of the state.
Highlighting the unique nature of this committee within the party’s operations, Bello stressed its purpose: understanding the events surrounding the election in all 21 LGAs and acknowledging exceptional loyalty, commitment, dedication, courage, and boldness displayed by party members in challenging political environments.
“While the election has concluded, its repercussions persist. We acknowledge excellent performance in many Local Councils, yet results in others fell short of expectations,” Bello noted.
This novel committee includes notable figures such as Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf (Chairman), Prof. Usman Ogbo (Secretary), Hon. Funsho Olumoko, Barr. James Fabola, Sen. Atai Aidoko, Hon. Yakubu Okala, Hon. Idris Ozi Shaib, Hon. Abdulsalami Ibrahim Ahovi, Barr. Ladi Jatto, Alh. Hadi Ametuo, and Hon.Abubakar Bashir Gegu.
Their task is to unravel the intricacies of the election dynamics in Kogi State and recommend measures for future improvements.
