The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of planning to block bank accounts belonging to its members.
According to the party’s spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan said the ruling party has obtained court orders to perfect its plans.
Ologbondiyan said that the APC wants to block the finances of its stakeholders ahead of the 2019 election.
According to reports, he also said “It is clear that the only reason for this is to ensure that our party and candidates are deprived of access to funds for campaigns, but the APC and the Buhari Presidency fail to realize that the 2019 election is now a battle between them and Nigerians, who are the bastion of the PDP.
“Nigerians have since taken over the saddle for the quest to rid the nation of this incompetent, vicious and vengeful administration, for which they are now freely making contributions and sacrifices. They have collectively resolved to vote out President Buhari and not even the APC’s on-going vote-buying strategy and intimidation can scuttle that resolve.”
The APC had earlier called on security agencies to monitor the illegal movement of cash by politicians ahead of the elections in 2019.
The ruling party’s spokesman, Yekini Nabena made the call while reacting to reports that the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar held a meeting with other party leaders in Dubai.
