The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has strongly rebuked Labour Party (LP) chieftain Mr. Valentine Ozigbo for his recent criticism of Governor Charles Soludo’s performance in Anambra State over the past two years.
Ozigbo had expressed his dissatisfaction with Soludo’s administration and declared his intention to contest the 2025 governorship election in Anambra to replace him.
APGA, in response, accused Ozigbo of seeking an excuse to declare his gubernatorial ambition to solicit campaign donations.
The party’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ejimofor Opara, stated that Ozigbo’s criticism lacked substance as he failed to provide specifics on what he would have done differently from Soludo.
Opara highlighted Soludo’s achievements in areas like Okpoko and Ekwulobia, as well as the road infrastructure development, which Ozigbo failed to acknowledge.
Regarding Ozigbo’s promise of serving only one term if elected, Opara questioned the sincerity of such a statement, suggesting it was a ploy to gain support.
He criticized Ozigbo for being a “Peter Obi Man Friday,” implying that Ozigbo was overly reliant on former Governor Peter Obi for political direction.
Opara concluded by urging Ozigbo to focus on his own political path and not distract Soludo, who he believes is diligently fulfilling his mandate to the people of Anambra State.
