The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged Nigerians of voting age to come out en masse to participate in the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) registration, preparatory to the 2019 general elections. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed May 20, for the conduct of bye-election into Mashi/Dutsi Federal Constituency in Katsina State. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the election was sequel to the death of the member representing the constituency, Alhaji Sani Bello on Feb.15, 2017. Lagos State had a local debt stock of N311.7 billion as at Dec. 31, 2016, according to the Debt Management Office. The state, referred to as the commercial hub of Nigeria, had the highest local debt stock in the country during the period.
