The African Development Bank has through funding from the African Development Fund’s (ADF) Regional Public Goods window, initiated a training and research capacity building programme which has awarded 90 Master’s and five PhD scholarships to further strengthen the capacity of inclusive and green growth policy formulation in Africa. The World Trade Organization has today given update on “US tarriffs on Chinese goods”. WTO, revealed that United States has appealed the panel report in respect US tariffs on Chinese goods. The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), has today informed the general public that information has reached them from the United States of America’ Food and Drug Administration on an increased risk of a false positive result with BD SARS-CoV-2 Reagents for the BD Max System test. The University College Hospital Ibadan has in a post noted that they are aware of plans by suspected hoodlums to attack the University College Hospital, Ibadan. In lieu of this, the Federal Ministry of Health has alerted all Teaching Hospitals, Federal Medical Centres, Specialist Hospitals and other tertiary hospitals in Nigeria of the planned attack on them. The African Development Bank has invested $1.3 million in urban poor sanitation improvement in Uganda. As a result of this there has been an improvement in the decline of Typhoid fever and Diarrhoea significantly in the Ugandan capital, Kampala. Kawempe being a subdivision of Kampala has developed rapidly over the years, but water and sanitation infrastructure in this area dominated by swampy lowlands has been scarce. Urban Poor Sanitation Improvement Project (KUPSIP), carried out in the area from 2013 to 2018, has helped to reduce typhoid fever cases by 7.7% and diarrhoea cases by 49.3%.
