The University College Hospital Ibadan has in a post noted that they are aware of plans by suspected hoodlums to attack the University College Hospital, Ibadan.
In lieu of this, the Federal Ministry of Health has alerted all Teaching Hospitals, Federal Medical Centres, Specialist Hospitals and other tertiary hospitals in Nigeria of the planned attack on them.
All Chief Medical Directors (CMDs) and Medical Directors (MDs) have therefore been ordered by Ministers in various ministries to provide adequate security around their facilities.
UCH has therefore taken bold steps to ensure the safety of lives and properties within the Hospital. The CMD, Professor Jesse Otegbayo has therefore informed his Excellency the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde to hint him on the turn out of things.
His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde has however assured the CMD that adequate security facilities will be put in place to protect the hospital and other Health Institutions in the state.
The Chief Medical Director has therefore urged all heads of all security agencies to provide security support to UCH, and to which they have received positive responses.
The CMD, therefore, assured staff, students and patients in the Hospital of their safety.
